Today, we remember.
On Patriot Day, we honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and recognize the extraordinary courage and sacrifice shown by first responders and ordinary citizens on that day and in the days that followed.
September 11 is also Texas First Responders Day, giving us another opportunity to thank the firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS professionals and other first responders who serve our communities every day.
TCISD remembers those we lost, honors those who serve and expresses our gratitude to the first responders who stand ready when we need them most. #NeverForget

Heights has been named a National Bright Spot by The 74 for beating the odds in third-grade literacy. 📚👏
The national nonprofit education newsroom analyzed nearly 42,000 schools across the country to identify schools where third-grade reading performance significantly exceeded expectations based on student poverty levels.
✨ Bright Spots represent the top 5% of schools in their state for outperforming those expectations.
That’s something worth celebrating!
This recognition reflects what happens when high expectations meet great teaching, hardworking students and a school community committed to helping every child succeed.

TCISD has been closely monitoring the weather and consulting with weather experts. At this time, we are not expecting severe weather beyond normal rainfall, and school will operate on a normal schedule on Sept. 1.

🤝 Building skills through teamwork!
Third grade dual language students in Mrs. Ruiz’s class put their teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test with the Saving Sam challenge! 🐛
Students worked together to communicate, collaborate and think critically as they found a way to successfully complete the activity. Hands-on learning experiences like this help students build skills they can carry with them both in and beyond the classroom.
Mrs. Ruiz said her students absolutely loved the teambuilding activity, and we can see why! ❤️
